Our vision and mission

Our vision is: Quality in learning, quality in life!

A broad and balanced education

Our mission

Guided by our vision, Together for Learning, Development and Mastery, Elverum Upper Secondary strives to create an inclusive learning community where students actively participate, develop their potential, and find meaning in learning beyond the classroom. We encourage learners to connect local experiences with global understanding, fostering engaged and internationally minded citizens.

This strongly supports the IB mission statement by highlighting education as a pathway to individual growth, intercultural understanding, and positive community impact.

IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

School strategy promoting learning and development

Both at our school owner level (Innlandet county), whole school level and IBDP programme level there is a focus on how to bring our mission statement alive.

The characteristics of quality education align with the IB philosophy and mission statement as they empower students and other members of our learning community to take action. Action that fosters inquisitiveness, working and learning from each other to understand, celebrate and foster our shared humanity.

The following points describing our strategy working towards optimal student learning are built upon an ideal of quality and fidelity in our pedagogical practices. To this end teaching and learning should incorporate reflection and dialogue of these practices among faculty, students and the wider community to help ensure their effectives.
